It's Sat. morning, it's rainy, there is a ton of work that needs to be done around the house, but where do I start. It all takes money, which is in short supply.
The other day my oldest daughter, Sadie, had a message on her cell phone, from a debt collector. Naturally she wanted to see what this was all about. She returned the call only to find out that she had an unpaid bill from "COMCAST". She asked them, what is comcast, as she had no idea what it was. The reply was, are you sure that this is your bill, after all if you had subscribed to this you should know what it is. Here the bill was over 2 years old. When they started getting the facts and dates together, she realized what had happened. My wife (ex) died a little over 2 years ago. when the girls went through her papers they found that their mother had used Sadie's name and SS number, but didn't know what for. They thought it was only for a credit application, well you guessed it she had also left a bill for Sadie to pay. why did it take them 2 years to contact Sadie, and why, after explaining what happened did they still insist that Sadie had to pay the bill, ($229.00)? I think that a business like that should have some mercy and common sense in a situation like that. What are your thoughts?
